An event has been created on Facebook, inviting people to celebrate Epiphany in the newly discovered third underground lake of Kifissos.
A third underground lake was discovered beneath the Kifisso at the point of the confluence of its bed with the stream of Echatia.
This news has been making the rounds on the internet for the past few hours, leading some to take the opportunity to do some… trolling. That’s how it was created a Facebook eventwhich invites people to perform Epiphany in the third underground lake of Kifissos.

The first lake was revealed in 2021, the second two years later and the third a few days ago, on New Year’s Eve 2025 – Significantly larger than the previous two so the last chance to drop the cross“, it says in its description eventwhich has been very popular so far.
For the record, speleologists from the “Geomythiki” team walked six kilometers through the underground conduit to discover the lake, which also has fish.
The team sent their findings to the Region of Attica and the Ministry of the Environment, as they identified that the underground pipelines are in a poor condition and there is a problem of water stagnation.
It should be noted that the first of the lakes was discovered by the members of the same group, in January 2023. It was found at the height of the Perissos pedestrian bridge and Vikela street in Patisia, immediately after the underground confluence of Kifissos and Podoniftis.
In July 2023, the second lake was located under Kifissos at the height of Athens Avenue after they entered from the area of Rentis and after walking 3.5 kilometers under the National Highway.
