Brazilian artist explains why he cut his hand in half.
THE Marcelo De Souza Ribeiro – who goes by the name “B-boy” – by Bocaiúva her Brazil made his first tattoo at the age of 15 and has continued to modify it ever since his body.
With over 1,500 tattoo and counting, the father of two made a more drastic change in the form of submitting to three surgeries of one hour to modify it his left hand.
Already having his ears modified to look like elf ears, implants on his hands, a forehead implant his ears, lips, eyes and tongue tattooed, we can say that the Ribeiro he wasn’t so scared by the prospect of tweaking his hand either.
He stated in Business Insider that the three procedures performed on his left hand were “smooth, quick and not painful‘, despite the fact that they were carried out by a friend of his for free – albeit, thankfully under anaesthesia.
THE Ribeiro – who has over a million followers on Instagram – explained: “I can now open the arm laterally and fold it in two».
Ribeiro explains that he thinks of his body as an “art exhibit.” And it certainly comes at a price to match, as the artist reportedly spent around $35,000 on the makeovers, tattoos and implants.
While Ribeiro is known to many as “the most modified man in the world” – which seems plausible given the long list of surgeries he’s undergone – that’s not actually the case, at least according to Guinness World Record. Saccording to Guinness World Records, 62-year-old Rolf Buchholz from Germany currently holds the world record title not only for “most body modifications (male)” but also for “most piercings.”
