Tourist asked for ‘love, peace’ tattoo and ended up with…. food recipe

A tourist unknowingly got a tattoo from… Thai cuisine.

A tourist he was stunned to learn what the news actually said tattoo which he did through social media. The man, he revealed, had visited a shop to get his new tattoo which he wanted to read ‘love and peace’ and instead ended up with a Thai font which read… meal.

The man shared the photos on Redditand there his social media friends explained to him that what he wrote in his hand, was not what he himself believed.

The message read Kaeng Khiao Wan Ped Kai, which actually translates as ‘spicy green curry with chicken’. This dish is one of the most popular in Thailand.

When he learned from the app’s users what this tattoo really meant, he joked: “This dish, I tried it and it was one of the spiciest meals I’ve ever eaten.”

A Thai user, however, explained to him yet another problem that had arisen and did not concern its significance: “I’m so sorry, but Thai people don’t refer to the dish like that. I am Thai and I have never in my life called green curry “Kaeng Khiao Wan Ped Kai”. We simply call it “Gaeng Khiao Wan Kai”. But at least the spelling is correct”he wrote.
