The famous banana wall art was recently sold at auction for over $6 million and shortly thereafter was eaten.
A controversial artwork titled “Comedian» had caused a little… havoc in the social media. It was a banana taped to a wall that was eventually auctioned off for the sum of 6.2 million dollars.
His work Maurizio Cattelan divided liberal art lovers and critics when it debuted at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2019, and has since been withdrawn from exhibitions twice.
Finally a few days ago, a Chinese-American businessman, Mr Justin Sun spent the amount of 6.2 million dollars to do his own work. A little later, the businessman and founder of the platform cryptocurrency Tronkept his promise and ate the banana, in the presence of journalists and people.
“It’s much better than other bananas,” he declared after the first bite. “She is really very good”he underlined.

THE Juston Sun he stated that for the first ten seconds after the sale he found it “unbelievable” that he had won the auction. In the next ten seconds, he had decided he was going to eat the banana.
“Eating it during a press conference can also be part of the history of this work of art“, he explained.
