London – New York in less than 4 hours? And yet it will be possible

Overture, the first supersonic passenger plane since Concorde, is expected to be in the skies by 2030.

The air travel they are constantly changing and evolving. Distances are no longer a problem, while airplanes’ times in the air are noticeably reduced. Flight speed is something that is quite interesting to airlines, which are trying to improve and change the facts.

This is expected to help the “Overture,” the first supersonic passenger jet to be built since Concorde, which is being developed by Colorado-based company Boom Supersonic. Following the recent successful tests of an upgraded model, which reached a top speed of 283mph, developers have called it a “landmark” for the development of a full-scale aircraft, according to The European.

In theory, Overture will travel with twice the speed than classic airplanes, which will halve the travel time between New York and London, i.e. in three and a half hours.

Boom Supersonic claims there are around 600 routes the aircraft could take, although due to supersonic flight regulations, these would have to be over water rather than over land. However, that hasn’t stopped United, American Airlines and Japan Airlines from closing deals for Overture aircraft.

So when could we see these aircraft in the sky? Well, that’s likely to happen by 2030. However, speed doesn’t come cheap. Passengers who want to book a ticket on such a superfast flight will have to dig deep into their pockets.
