The competent agency of the Italian Ministry of Culture found a temporary emergency solution to meet the demands of touristswithout interrupting the cleaning of the historic Trevi Fountain, which is located in the center of the Eternal City.
More specifically, in the last two weeks, the fountain has been emptied and its marbles are being cleaned by specialized crews. Right under her steps Trevi Fountaina small, square one was placed poolin which tourists can drop coins, as tradition dictates, making a wish for their personal life or to return to Rome.
It is worth noting that one is going to be installed soon wooden overpassin front of the fountain and to limit the number of tourists who will be able to visit it daily. The city of Rome’s plans also include imposing a €2.50 ticket to tackle over-tourism.
This temporary solution, with the installation of a small swimming pool, provoked the reaction of many internet users, who – as the Italian media write – believe that this particular choice, mainly from an aesthetic point of view, is not suitable for such a popular and valuable monument .
