They say the best ideas are born out of crisis, and it seems that’s what happened to one Canadian woman. This is Allison Parliament, a big fan of the Jeep brand.
He never imagined that a bag of toys would revolutionize the world of off-road enthusiasts. Rubber duckies are at the height of their popularity. In fact, there are countless stores that offer the toy in various designs, colors, sizes and prices.

How ‘Jeep ducking’ started
The origin of the story goes back to the covid pandemic. Allison saw a parked Jeep Wrangler and decided to leave its owner a small souvenir. A few minutes earlier he had gotten into an argument with another driver at a gas station, so he decided to turn the bad day around with a nice gesture.
The woman had a bag of tiny rubber duckies and left one in the car with a message: “Nice Jeep.” He left it on the door of the vehicle and then photographed it to remember the moment.

The hashtag #DuckDuckJeep
He shared the image on Instagram with the hashtag #DuckDuckJeep not imagining it would be the start of a trend. As of 2020, people are doing it all over the world.
Allison eventually decided to start a Facebook community (which still exists), where other Jeep fans began posting photos of the ducks they received and those they gave away.
Today the community has more than 138,000 members. Although at first it was a practice limited to the Wrangler, today it covers all models, even other car brands. The goal is simply to create a moment of joy through this small gift.

There are thousands of videos and photos on social media. A quick search on TikTok produces Jeep ducking content in thousands of variations, from ducking on the windshield to ducking on the spare tire or hood. Some drivers have glove boxes full of these toys to give away.
